Elena Bodrova
An internationally known expert in cognitive psychology and child development, Dr. Bodrova is the lead developer of McREL’s Scaffolding Early Literacy program, lead provider of professional development for numerous Early Reading First projects around the U.S., and co-developer of the Tools of the Mind curriculum.

Greg Cameron
A co-author of McREL’s Balanced Leadership Framework: Connecting Vision with Action and co-developer of McREL’s Balanced Leadership Professional Development Sessions, Greg Cameron has guided school leaders across the U.S. and Australia in transforming their schools from the inside out and creating cultures of high performance.

Ceri Dean
Dr. Dean is co-author of the second edition of Classroom Instruction that Works and co-developer of Success in Sight, McREL’s comprehensive approach to school improvement. As Vice President of Field Services, she oversees all of McREL’s training, technical assistance, and consulting services.

Jim Eck
With 30 years’ of experience as a teacher and administrator, Jim Eck has worked at the school and district levels around the country on large-scale school improvement efforts and Balanced Leadership. He currently oversees McREL’s District-level Balanced Leadership work.

Bryan Goodwin
Developer of the What Matters Most framework and author of Changing the Odds: What Matters Most, Bryan Goodwin has written about and for McREL for a decade and, as Vice President of Communications and Marketing, manages its corporate visibility, publications, media relations, and marketing efforts.

Jane Hill
Co-author of McREL’s Classroom Instruction that Works with English Language Learners and an expert in second language acquisition and diversity with 30 years of experience, Jane Hill consults and trains teachers and administrators nationally and internationally in the areas of instruction and leadership.

John Kendall
Since 1988, John Kendall has led McREL’s research and development projects related to academic standards around the country and world. An internationally known standards expert, he is author of numerous publications related to standards, including Content Knowledge: A Compendium of Standards and Benchmarks for K−12 Education.

Howard Pitler
Principle author of Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works and developer of McREL’s Power Walkthrough observation training and software, Dr. Pitler writes and speaks extensively on educational technology and also serves as McREL’s Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

Bj Stone
Dr. Stone works with teachers, principals, district administrators and leadership teams in the areas of Balanced Leadership, research-based instructional strategies, vocabulary instruction, curriculum mapping, and assessment design—all with the end goal of increased student achievement.

Tim Waters
Known nationally and internationally as an innovator, author, and leader of education improvement and reform, Dr. Waters has nearly 40 years of experience in education as a teacher and administrator, and has served as McREL’s President and CEO since 1995. He speaks and writes extensively on the topic of education leadership and co-authored School Leadership that Works: From Research to Results and District Leadership that Works: Striking the Right Balance.
